Welcome back to www.CARLANDMEL.com

After failing to update our site for some time (some very long time) we have finally updated the content. As you will see we have simplified the site down to a single page with details of what has been happening for us over the past year or so.

Things have changed quite a bit over the past twelve months with our family changing quite considerably. Dogs: We now have three Leonbergers; Loki, Shadow and Worcester. Cats: Flash has moved in next door (didn't fancy hanging around with the dogs) but Kate is still with us. Chickens: Seven of them. Sheep: Only two now with one dying of old age. That takes the total family to fifteen including us of course!

Waiheke bach after revamp

We have also had a busy year trying to start some work on our place and getting Waiheke ready for sale. Over the past twelve months we have headed over to Waiheke for the weekends to give the bach (holiday home) a facelift with a new bathroom, kitchen, electrics and lighting and giving the place a lick of paint. It has proved to be all worthwhile though with the bach going on the market and selling in five weeks.

Our place needs lots of work doing to it now, like resurfacing, putting a new deck in, extending the balcony etc. The good news is that with the help of a friend Paul we have framed up a garage and put a garage door in so that's a start.

We have taken up new hobbies with the Winter setting in. Mel is finally learning how to play the guitar she has owned for six or seven years. It is six days since lesson 1 and Carl is thoroughly sick of 'Silent Night'. Carl is learning Aikido which is a Martial Art using the energy of the opponent to BRING THEM DOWN. Mel is not so happy about this new hobby, being Carl's unwilling opponent when he gets home.

We will update you again soon. Or at least we will try to update you again soon!
