Latest news and lots of it! Page 3

After the early start for Lake Matheson we all packed up and headed back to Queenstown for a few days rest and relaxation, at least that was the plan, it didn't quite work out that way

The last couple of days in Queenstown proved to be the most adrenaline pumping of the lot...... After a ride on the famous Shotover jet, Paul decided he would do the biggest bungy jump in NZ over the Nevis river. Mel and Fran went to watch and were a little uncertain about viewing from a cable car hanging over the river, which swayed as people jumped around inside - and off - the platform. It was nerve racking to watch but Paul reckons it was no big deal to jump (139m).

Mel and Carl plumped for a different jump entirely and booked a 15000ft tandem skydive over Queenstown. It was the most exhilarating adventure activity we have ever done, and we have the DVD to prove it! While Mel and Carl were jumping out of a plane, Fran was jumping off a cliff with a bloke and a parachute attached. She paraglided round Queenstown from a slightly lower altitude. So all in all we got to see Queenstown from some great angles. Click here for the photos.

That was the end of our adventures with Fran and Paul, or so Fran thought until she was roped into helping us catch one of our sheep to see to her sore feet. Paul headed home and Fran went for a rest to stay with family in New Plymouth. We spent a few weeks relaxing with Fran (well, apart from a huge amount of gardening at the weekends and tending to the sheep and chickens) and had a fantastic night out with friends for Mel's birthday. No photos unfortunately, but we do

have some photos of Mel's mischievous birthday pressies - Flash (ginger) and Kate (tortie and white). Thank you to everyone who sent birthday cards and presents, Mel was spoilt again as usual. Click here for the photos.

Well, we think that's all our news for now. We have a steady stream of visitors over Autumn and Winter so we hope to have lots more news for you in another six months! Keep in touch.
